TPC Group’s Process Safety Management culture is a top-down approach to risk reduction and applies a systematic approach and drive continuous improvement in environmental, safety, health, security and process safety management programs and practices that meet regulatory and industry best practices. The Company’s risk mitigation, behavior-based safety and guiding principles for achieving Operational Excellence focuses on controlling the potential release of hazardous substances caused by mechanical failures, process upsets, procedural issues, and human error. TPC Group utilizes guidelines published by the American Petroleum Institute (API) to categorize and report process safety incidents, with Tier 1 as the most significant category.

Tier 1 event data provided includes events that occurred after November 1, 2019.
